Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body’s natural balance and encourage healing. It’s a complimentary therapy that works on the feet (also hands & ears), enabling the body to heal itself. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of imbalance and vital energy (Qi, chi) pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively.
The ancient art of Reflexology was first practised by the early Egyptians, Indian, and Chinese cultures and has developed over the years to a popular alternative therapy. It is very popular in the UK and Europe and a fast growing therapy in Australia.

What to expect
With soft music if desired, your session will begin with a therapeutic foot bath (with magnesium & essential oils), which soothes, relaxes mind, body & soul, and prepares the body to unwind. It’s that Ahhhh moment! You will remain clothed, and lay on a massage table where you will receive your reflexology session geared to your body’s unique needs.
Reflexology uses the thumbs and fingers to stimulate specific reflex points on the feet, which refer to different parts of the body (Organs & Glands). Your feet and hands have thousands of nerve endings, and are a mini-map or microcosm of the entire body.
Some spots may be slightly tender due to that area of the body needing to release stored up blockages > energy / Qi / Chi / vital life force).
Many people fall asleep during reflexology due to its calming effect on the nervous system. You may experience lightness or tingling in the body as energy blockages are being released. Possible reactions during or after your session range from physical to emotional and may include:
- Emotional release
- Disappearance or reduction of any pain discomfort
- Loose, relaxed muscles
- Sensation of being cold or chilled
- Sense of calm and comforting
- Perspiration of hands or feet
- Desire to sleep
- Runny nose/Sinus drainage
- Mild short term headache
- Coughing or scratchy throat
- Gurgling belly
If you do have any of these symptoms after your session, this is your body clearing any blockages, which is the aim and a follow-up session is recommended.
Each session will generally take about 1 hour .
For your first visit, expect to fill out a Client health history form and disclaimer form so that you can be sure to receive a session that is right for you.
Initial session – allow 1 hour
Follow up sessions 45mins –1 hour
